What counts as a resident show

A resident show is one with a standing weekly schedule — the shows you choose between on a given night in Las Vegas. One-off concerts, residencies announced by date, fights and conventions are excluded: they outnumber resident shows many times over, and any average taken across both describes the touring calendar rather than what is on tonight.

We do not publish how many shows opened or closed in a given year. Our records carry each show's current ticketing window rather than its opening night, and the catalogue itself only goes back to late 2021 — so a count of "shows that opened in 2023" would really be a count of when we started tracking them. It is a number this site can earn going forward, not one it can backfill.
