Tasty eats before and after the Vegas Golden Knights game

By Jennifer Minagil - April 24, 2023

You've joined the crowds at T-Mobile Arena for the crowd surge of hockey fans dressed in gold & black.  If you didn't enjoy a meal before the game but are hoping to avoid the concessions prices inside the arena, we've got you covered with some popular picks nearby.  Let's go grab a bite!

America

Located inside NY NY Casino, you'll find the America restaurant just adjacent to the hotel Front Desk.  Open 24 hours, this cafe offers a $21.95 Rib Eye special daily from 5pm to 5am. When walking toward the hostess stand, you'll see the Donut & Dessert counter with freshly baked specialty donuts, cinnamon rolls and more - all which may be ordered from your table if you so desire. Breakfast is served around the clock, so if you're in the mood for Brinner (breakfast for dinner) this spot has you covered.  The in-house bar offers a variety of fun cocktail selections such as the Fruity Booty and Fireracker Iced Tea, as well as beer, wine and champagne selections.  Be sure to take a few minutes to gaze at the enormous 3D diorama-style map of the United States.  At 90x20 foot, this visual curiosity is hoisted above the main dining area.  Each state reflects interesting points such as iconic landmarks and state capitals.

Beerhaus

Stroll along The Park outdoor walking area between NY NY and Park MGM, and you'll quickly see this lively place.  Beerhaus has a back-porch vibe combined with some of the best people watching you'll experience. Aiming for a new take on a classic beer hall, it's a great place to pull up a chair, play some bar games like Jumbo Jenga with your pals, and order something to eat.  You'll order your food at the counter upon entering, while beer and cocktails can be ordered from your table.  The listed Hot Dogs, Brats and Free Range Chicken Sandwich all come highly recommended.  Take note of the black and white marquees alongside each restaurant entryway, which inevitably will have a charming quip about the event taking place at T-Mobile Arena that day.  No frills here, just a relaxed and fun vibe for pre or post event enjoyment.

Gonzalez y Gonzalez

A solid favorite with plenty of YouTube hype, this place hits just the right notes.  An Americanized version of Mexican fare, Gonzalez y Gonzalez can be found while wandering through the Village Street Eateries at New York New York.  Not far from The Bar at Times Square, the streetside vibe adds a touch of theme-park level visual fun.  The restaurant features an authentic Tequila bar and tableside guacamole service.  Their Carne Asada tacos and Taco Salads are chef's kiss, with Chicken Enchiladas also topping the charts - and plenty of food for your money, too.  Reservations are accepted, and if you'd like to dine in the evening hours, we highly recommend reserving your dining time in advance.  On Friday and Saturday nights if you're feeling the urge to sashay onto the dance floor, you can enjoy Latin Nights which begin at 11pm and run until the wee hours of the morning. Ole!

Moneyline Pizza & Bar

Conveniently situated next to the Race & Sports Book inside Aria Resort, this delicious pizzeria opens at 11am daily, with the walk-up counter staying open through as late as 3am on weekends.  You can either place your order while seated at a table, or you can order from the walk-up counter. Moneyline does accept reservations if you want to be sure your group will be able to get a table.  Their menu spans a decent variety of craft beer, appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches and pizza (red or white sauce).  There is a fantastic lunch special available weekdays from 11am to 2pm, which includes a slice of pizza and your choice of a salad or vegetable minestrone soup for $14.50.  Coming in first and second place for medal-worthiness are the Gotham Pizza and Truffle Pizza - neither currently display on their online menu, so be sure to ask your waiter or waitress about them!

BetMGM Sportsbook Bar

Inside Park MGM just across the hall from the Side Betty Grill, you'll see the BetMGM Sportsbook Bar.  Before my first visit, I had no idea they served food.  Surprise!  As you enter the Sportsbook, just to the left of the betting windows is a hostess kiosk where you can either check in for your reservation, or ask to be seated. While this place may not have the largest menu you've ever seen, everything we ordered during our visit was a solid A+.  The grilled chicken breast sandwich with dijonnaise, white cheddar and pickles was excellent and a great size for the price.  They offer an All-You-Can-Eat Taco & Beer special between the hours of 4pm and 10pm every Tuesday.  At $37 per person, it's a fantastic deal - just know that there is a 2 hour dining maximum for the "all you can eat" portion.   if by any chance you didn't score tickets to the evening's Vegas Golden Knights game, fear not.  There are plenty of TV's that will be trained onto the game so that you can eat, drink, and cheer with your pals.

Din Tai Fung

There are hearty reasons why restaurants come to be recommended by the Neon Feast.  This Taiwanese Dim-Sum favorite offers the steamed dumplings and noodles of your dreams.  The steamed pork soup dumplings are a sight to behold as you enter the restaurant.  Visible in the glass-walled Show Kitchen, the dumplings are prepared by hand with precise measurement, weight, and folds of dough. On average, they prepare around 10,000 pieces of dumplings every day!  Nestled inside Aria, this restaurant is just to the right of the Lift Bar.  If you're in a hurry, Din Tai Fung does offer take-away; they even have a dedicated phone line for guests who want to be able to pick up their food and take it to their room, or elsewhere.  The take-out phone line is 702-590-8654.  If you'd like to dine-in, reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak dining times.

Brewdog

Last but not least, this nearby newbie takes the top prize for having easily the best view on the south Strip.  Located above the Showcase Mall, you can access the restaurant via an elevator.  Tip: The same hallway has an elevator for the Olive Garden, so just be sure to look for the correct signage.  Brewdog hosts two floors of beer paradise, and offers 96 taps of craft beer daily.  The lower floor offers indoor dining, while the upper floor offers unrivaled open-air views of the famed Las Vegas Strip.  Photos across social media have focused on the Wagyu beer burgers and Lobster tacos, but it should be noted that one half of Brewdog's menu is plant based for any vegans and vegetarians perusing this article.  There is also a kids menu available if you've got littles with you.  While after-dark hours come highly preferred by many, we enjoyed the sunset view while noshing on the Giant Beer Pretzel with added cured meats and cheeses.
Now that we have you thinking of delicious foodstuffs to cap off your day, say it with me: Go Knights Go!  If you havn't secured tickets for the game on Thursday, April 27th yet - open the VegasNearMe app and tap Shows and Events followed by Hockey, then tap Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Note: Game 7 and beyond will be displayed in-app as soon as the event time(s) have been confirmed.
