Calibre 50 is a Regional Mexican band founded in the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa in 2010. The band started on the stages of small restaurants and local parties, where their theme song, “El Infiernito,” opened the doors to airplay. Two other tracks, “Culiacan vs. Mazatlan” and “Callejero y Mujeriego,” helped propel their 2010 debut album, Renovar o Morir, to a strong chart showing and also winning the Premios Lo Nuestro Award for Regional Mexican New Artist of the Year. Each album has charted since then and have placed in the Top 100 and has topped the Mexican Regional Albums charts. Their rowdy stage show is a spectacle of musical intensity and engaging crowd interaction. Calibre 50 has since had major success having the record for the most number-one songs on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart with 22 No. 1 songs, the most from a Regional Mexican band. They also made history when the band became the first Regional Mexican act to perform on the Conan show on an episode that took place in Mexico City. In 2018 Calibre 50 made their Rodeo Houston debut on to a sold out crowd of 75,565 fans and then went on to win the Latin Grammy for Best Norteño Album and surpass over 1 Billion Streams on digital platforms.
