Day 4 — September 28, 2023
After our Downtown Las Vegas day, we got a late start. We began the day with a $20 slot challenge that did not go well. We grabbed breakfast at the Grand Lux Cafe and then walked to the Wynn to explore that beautiful hotel and casino. We did play some slots, but didn’t have much luck. We left the Wynn and headed back to the Palazzo for some more slots and then walked through the Grand Canal Shoppes. We got thirsty, as we tend to do, and so stopped in at the bar at Smith & Wollensky, home of Gillian’s current favorite Espresso Martini. Jon tried a new drink on their menu — a Ciderhouse Buck. The bartender asked for some feedback, which was good. As a way of saying thanks, he comped the drink! So nice!
We left Smith & Wollensky and — you guessed it — played some more slots at the Venetian. We started getting hungry and decided to eat at the bar at Bouchon, which was a wonderful experience. The decor, the food, the cocktails, and the service — everything was outstanding, again.
We made our way back to the Venetian casino and Jon tried a Huff n Puff slot that went VERY well. He put $100 in, and when all was said and done, cashed out with $800! So much fun.
After that excitement, we stopped in for a drink and snack at Sugarcane, on Restaurant Row by the Palazzo. Gillian had a glass of wine and Jon had a delicious cocktail, and we shared a couple appetizers that hit the spot.
It was getting late, so after some more gambling, it was time to call it a night.
We didn’t go very far, but we had a great time.
