The Only Thing - NPR Tiny Desk Submission

Our submission to the 2019 NPR Tiny Desk Concert. We have a wee tiny desk sitting onto of our larger metal work desk.

The song we have chosen to do is a song that was inspired by the tragic suicide of someone well known and respected in the Las Vegas music community. It was also inspired by my close relationship with someone who battled and continues to battle manic depression, and the conversations we would have about their thoughts to take their life.

I wrote this as a way to tap in to the mind of someone who was dealing with these feelings. A way to hear the emotions as if they were writing this as their goodbye. As if it say, "this is what my pain sounds like". As if to reach into the core of what they perceive their worth is.
