Episode Description
In an age when everything revolves around RuPaul's Drag Race, people who actually know about drag history are rarer than the Loch Ness Monster. That's why performing artist Harry James Hanson and writer Devin Antheus joined together to create 'Legends of Drag: Queens of a Certain Age.' The hardcover book features over 80 veteran queens (yes, some of them may in fact be over 80 as well), and includes portraits and pearls of wisdom from the pioneers of modern drag. Hanson and Antheus include queens who were part of some of the most iconic moments in LGBTQ+ history and they commented, “We hope the book piques interest in the many revolutionary groups and traditions of which our models have been members and participants: the Gay Liberation Front, Queer Nation, Act Up, the Cockettes, the Radical Faeries, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.”
