Whitney Mesa Nature Preserve Hike, Henderson, NV & Bucket List // Full Time RV Life

This is a great hike near Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. The views along the top of the surrounding mountain ranges are very beautiful and you can see for miles and miles. This trail is about 1.5 miles each way and can be extended because smaller trails branch off of it in other directions. We parked at the trailhead in a parking lot that had plenty of spaces. We started the hike by passing over a small, fast-running stream that was a mini oasis, surrounded by palm trees and other green vegetation. The next stretch of the hike is mainly uphill as we climbed the side of the Mesa. The paths are gravel and wide, making for an easy climb. When we reached the top, there was a viewpoint with benches to admire the view. We kept walking along the ridge line and there were frequent viewpoints with benches to stop and relax. We read that this trail is called Whitney Mesa Sunset Trail because the lights of the city look spectacular at sunset and it is frequented by locals at that time.
