Episode Description
Day three in Las Vegas and I hit the road! En route to the Grand Canyon I checked out the Seven Magic Mountains art installation just outside of Vegas by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. It offers a creative critique of the representation of destinations like Las Vegas. The location is physically and symbolically mid-way between the natural and the artificial: the natural is expressed by the mountain ranges, desert, and Jean Dry Lake backdrop, and the artificial is expressed by the highway and the constant flow of traffic between Los Angeles and Las Vegas...also it was just COOL!
After Seven Magic Mountains we visited the stunning engineering marvel that is Hoover Dam. I even got to time travel 😉
