Parks and Recreation Director Greg A. Weitzel stops by the Doolittle Community Center to observe the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Basketball Tournament. Coordinator Edrick Dickens shared that the tournament is in its 15th year. Savonta Manor, Coordinator of the Municipal Sports Unit also joined us as did Coach Mook to explain why this tournament is so special to everyone involved. Doolittle is certainly the mecca for basketball in our community! Not only were there trophies on the line, but so were lessons in unity, equality, peace, teamwork, sportsmanship, and socialization…all tenets of the great Dr. King.
