Built in 1913 for the thirsty miners of Goodsprings, Nevada, a trip to the Pioneer Saloon outside of Las Vegas is a trip back in time.
The Goodsprings mine went bust in the 1920's after World War I and most everyone left in the following decades. But, the saloon itself--thanks to the building materials used--is like the day it was built, complete with a cast of regulars and locals who make for a lively atmosphere.
The drive will take you about a half an hour southwest of Las Vegas, but every mile is worth it.
