Red Rock Canyon is 17 miles west of the Strip — about 25 minutes by car. The 13-mile scenic drive is open year-round ($15 entrance fee). Best times: early morning in summer (before heat), any time in spring and fall. Dozens of hiking trails range from easy strolls to strenuous full-day climbs.
