Episode Description
Let's take a walking tour of Container Park in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada! The unique outdoor shopping mall is located on Fremont Street near the Fremont Street Experience. We'll see the creative ways stores, playgrounds, and sculptures were created in the one-of-a-kind destination.
Container Park: A Unique Piece of Las Vegas History
Container Park is a unique attraction located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination built entirely out of repurposed shipping containers. Container Park was opened in December 2013 and was the brainchild of Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos. Hsieh had a vision for revitalizing downtown Las Vegas, and Container Park was one of the many projects he spearheaded.
The park was built on the site of a former retail center called the Neonopolis, which had fallen into disrepair and had become a blight on the downtown area. Hsieh and his team saw an opportunity to turn the site into something unique and engaging, and Container Park was born. The park was built using 43 repurposed shipping containers and features a mix of retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It also includes a children's playground, a performance stage, and a fire-breathing praying mantis sculpture.
Container Park has become an important part of the downtown Las Vegas community. It is a popular gathering place for locals, who come to enjoy the unique atmosphere and the many events and activities that are held there. In addition to its significance to the community, Container Park is also an important economic driver for the area. It has helped to revitalize the downtown area, bringing in new businesses and visitors and creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
Container Park has been developed into a popular tourist destination, with visitors coming from all over the world to experience its unique atmosphere and attractions. The park hosts a number of events throughout the year, including live music performances, food festivals, and holiday-themed events. In addition to events, Container Park has also been developed with tourists in mind through its retail and dining offerings. The park features a mix of local and national businesses, offering visitors a taste of the unique Las Vegas culture and cuisine.
Another way that Container Park has been developed for tourists is through its integration with other downtown attractions. The park is located just a few blocks from the Fremont Street Experience, a pedestrian mall and entertainment district that is another popular tourist destination in the area. Its development into a popular tourist destination has helped to revitalize the area and bring in new visitors and businesses. Whether you're a local resident or a tourist, Container Park is definitely worth a visit.
There are a few specific goals of Travel Towner:
1. To take fun POV (“Point-of-View”) videos of scenic drives, highways, and roadways so you can virtually travel anywhere you like; or look back at a time when you were younger.
2. Document a fun walking tour of a specific park, attraction, or point of interest so you can see what's it's like to really be there.
3. Showcase vintage footage from yesteryear to show today's viewers what is may have been like back in 19- something something! If you have any vintage footage of past attractions, parks, road trips or anything interesting from the USA? Contact me and let’s feature it here!
4. Just for Fun. These are videos that are funny or interesting in some way that I think everyone will enjoy!
Please give a "thumbs up" if you like taking a POV Road Trip or love POV driving.
Want to get in on the fun and make cool videos too? Here is everything I use to make it happen:

Another big part of the channel is to document a piece of Americana… at a certain point in time. Wouldn’t it be cool to go back to where you lived, 20 or 30 years ago, and take a ride through your hometown? As more roadway drives, walking tours, and vintage trips are added, it builds history so future viewers can go “back in time” and see what it was like, back then.
Roadtripping and traveling are uniquely American pastimes- and we should preserve it’s history- so future generations can appreciate the Freedom of the Road.
Please like the videos and subscribe to the channel. Leaving comments is a great way to tell ME what you’d like to see next.
