Since its foundation in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti in Florence, Italy’s hub of fashion and leatherworking, Valentino has established a legacy of value placed on artisanal design and craftsmanship. Season upon season, women’s ready-to-wear, men’s casual fashion, covetable accessories and cult shoes continue to pinpoint Valentino as the ultimate trendsetter, while couture creations have included bespoke wedding dresses for Elizabeth Taylor and Anne Hathaway, prompting a retrospective exhibition at London’s Somerset House in 2012. Today, Valentino remains under the sole Creative Direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli, following an illustrious eight year partnership with Maria Grazia Chiuri, during which the duo sparked a creative evolution, reviving classic silhouettes and accessories with edgy prints and the now-iconic Rockstud embellishment.
