Island eNVy presents Mother’s Day with The Makaha Sons, one of Hawai`i’s premiere Hawaiian musical groups. Over 45 years since they began making music, The Makaha Sons, led by founding member Jerome Koko, continue to perpetuate the culture with their vibrant sound, full and rich, including harmonies that only they can create. Their incomparable vocal arrangements and delightful stage presence filled with comical antics have won the hearts of thousands of fans worldwide with songs including “White Sandy Beach”, “Take a Walk in the Country”, “Hawai`i ’78”, and more. The Makaha Sons have released 22 CDs, are recipients of numerous Na Hoku Hanohano awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award, and they are inductees of the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. They have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, on NBC’s Today Show, for past Presidents and Vice Presidents of the United States, and at countless locations and events across Hawai`i and the continental United States.
