Christopher Cross, born Christopher Geppert, was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter who won five Grammys for his 1979 debut album. His singles "Sailing" and "Arthur's Theme" both reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Cross's father, a professional musician in the army, inspired him to pursue music.
