All That Jazz

Winter brings three dynamic works including the red-hued and lightning quick Rubies, where George Balanchine’s brilliant steps are illuminated by Stravinsky’s dynamic and jazz-like rhythms. The influential work of Jerome Robbins will shine again this season in N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz. Lauded for both his ballet and Broadway credits, this energetic work--featuring dancers in sneakers(!), moving through a cool, post-war New York City--debuted shortly after West Side Story appeared on Broadway. This rousing triple bill concludes with an anticipated World Premiere – specially commissioned by NBT for an exciting Las Vegas debut.
