## Choose your ride before you leave baggage claim

For a straightforward trip to a Strip hotel, compare the posted taxi zone fare with the live Uber or Lyft quote. A taxi can save the walk to the rideshare garage; an app ride lets you see the price before booking. Traveling solo and watching your budget? Look at RTC or a shared shuttle. Traveling with several people? Compare the whole group’s cost, not just the price per seat.

LAS uses Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Check your airline’s terminal before arranging a pickup or returning for your flight. A gate letter alone isn’t your drop-off address.

Reviewed October 1, 2026. Published prices below are in US dollars. Driving and transfer times are planning estimates, not live traffic predictions; queues, luggage, customs, roadwork, and special events add time.

## Your airport ride at a glance

### Choose by total cost, luggage, and time

Prefer a direct trip? Compare the taxi zone fare with the live Uber or Lyft quote. Have time and manageable bags? Check RTC connections. Considering a shared shuttle? Multiply the fare by everyone in your party and allow for hotel stops. The illustration shows transport choices; use the terminal instructions below for actual pickup locations.

## Compare your options

A quick shortlist. Taxi, rideshare, and private-car costs are per vehicle; RTC and shared-shuttle fares are per person.

### Taxi

Posted Strip zone fares: $22.25 / $26.25 / $30.25

Useful for a direct hotel ride and travelers who prefer a staffed taxi line. These are the Taxicab Authority’s current Tier 1 zone prices, not a guaranteed final total. Confirm applicable tax, payment fees, and event surcharges. Downtown and other non-zone trips use the meter.

### Uber & Lyft

Live app quote • per vehicle

Compare both apps after collecting your bags. Prices vary with demand, vehicle size, and destination. Use the total shown for your exact hotel, then weigh the pickup walk and wait against the taxi line.

### RTC public bus

Visitor passes: $6 for 2 hours / $8 for 24 hours

A budget option when you can manage your bags and allow for transfers. Current airport service is Route 108 and the RED LINE at Terminal 1. The Deuce serves the Strip; plan the connection in rideRTC.

Budget travel

### Shared airport shuttle

Bell Trans advertises $15 one way / $28 round trip

These online fares are per person. Check your exact hotel, date, operating hours, and checkout total. Multiple hotel stops make this slower than a direct ride; two $15 seats already total $30 before any extras.

Solo travelers

[Check shuttle details](https://airportshuttlelasvegas.com/)

### Rental car

Date-specific quote plus parking, fuel, and extras

Useful for a trip with drives beyond the Strip. Compare the full rental total with hotel parking and the rides you’d otherwise take. The separate Rent-A-Car Center adds a shuttle and collection step.

[Find the rental-car shuttle](https://www.harryreidairport.com/rental-cars)

### Private car, SUV, or limo

Get an all-in quote for your party and luggage

Useful for a large group, a planned meet-and-greet, or specific transport needs. Confirm waiting time, gratuity, extra stops, cancellation terms, and what happens if your flight is delayed.

[See official car-service information](https://www.harryreidairport.com/limousines)

## How long will the trip take?

For a direct car ride after leaving the pickup area, use these rough planning ranges: south Strip hotels about 10–20 minutes; center Strip about 15–30 minutes; north Strip about 20–35 minutes; downtown/Fremont Street about 25–40 minutes. These are editorial estimates for ordinary traffic, not measured journey times or promises. Check a live route for your exact hotel.

Touchdown-to-hotel takes longer than the drive. Add time to leave the gate, take any concourse tram, collect checked bags, clear customs if applicable, and reach your pickup. Don’t book a tightly timed show based only on a 15-minute drive.

For a shared shuttle, leave room for loading and several hotel stops. For public transit, budget roughly 60–90 minutes or more for a Strip trip including a transfer and walking, then replace that rough allowance with the current journey planner’s estimate. Add the Terminal 3-to-Terminal 1 shuttle when needed.

Current travel alert: the airport reports lane closures in both directions of the airport connector tunnels through December 2026. Strip event preparation can also change routes. Check conditions on your travel day.

## Where to meet your ride

Collect your bags first. Follow the signs for your chosen service; passenger pickup, taxis, rental shuttles, and rideshare use different areas.

## Terminal 1 pickup locations

Taxi outside • rideshare in the garage • RTC downstairs

Taxi: east side of baggage claim, outside doors 1–4.

Uber/Lyft: Level 2 of the parking garage. From baggage claim, use the elevator near Door 2 to Level 2, cross the pedestrian bridge, and turn right toward rideshare. Follow your app’s bay instructions.

Rental-car shuttle: Level 1, outside doors 10 and 11.

RTC: Level Zero. Go down from baggage claim, exit, cross the pedestrian crosswalk, and veer right to the covered bus stop.

Shared shuttles: west side of baggage claim, doors 7–13; use your operator’s specific meeting instructions.

## Terminal 3 pickup locations

Taxi on Level Zero • rideshare on the garage’s Valet Level

Taxi: outside on Level Zero near Door 52.

Uber/Lyft: Valet Level of the parking garage. Follow rideshare signs across the pedestrian bridge, then down to the Valet Level. The dedicated airport instructions describe elevators near doors 52, 54, or 56 to the bridge; prioritize current signs and app directions.

Rental-car shuttle: Level Zero at both ends of the terminal.

RTC: use the free inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1’s Level Zero bus stop. Don’t rely on older instructions promising a direct CX pickup at Terminal 3.

Shared shuttles: Level Zero at the ends of the building; check the operator’s confirmation.

## Taxi fares by hotel zone

The official July 2026 Tier 1 chart covers direct airport-to-listed-hotel and listed-hotel-to-airport trips. Zone membership follows the hotel list, including some off-Strip properties; don’t guess from the hotel’s neighborhood. Confirm the posted fare and final total before departure.

### Zone 1: $22.25

Examples: Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand

The current chart also places Four Seasons, W Las Vegas, OYO, and Virgin Hotel in Zone 1. For another property, check the official list.

### Zone 2: $26.25

Examples: ARIA, Bellagio, Paris, The Cosmopolitan

Park MGM, New York-New York, Planet Hollywood, Horseshoe, Vdara, and The Orleans are also listed in Zone 2.

### Zone 3: $30.25

Examples: Caesars Palace, The Venetian, Wynn, Fontainebleau

The chart also lists Flamingo, The LINQ, Resorts World, SAHARA, The STRAT, Westgate, Rio, and Palms in Zone 3.

## Make the taxi or rideshare choice in two minutes

1. Enter your exact hotel in Uber and Lyft and compare the vehicle you actually need. Count people, suitcases, a stroller, and any mobility equipment.

2. Check whether the hotel appears in the official taxi zone chart. Ask the taxi attendant or driver for the applicable total, including fees. The Tier 1 chart already identifies its fuel tier; don’t add a second fuel allowance yourself.

3. Compare the whole party’s cost. A hypothetical $36 vehicle split three ways is $12 each; three $15 shuttle seats total $45. Those examples show the math, not a live quote.

4. Consider effort and waiting. A lower app fare may involve a garage walk and a pickup wait. Request the ride when you have your bags and can reach the assigned meeting point. Check the car, license plate, and driver against the app before boarding.

For metered taxis, the Authority lists a $2.40 airport pickup fee, a $3 card-payment fee, and 3% excise tax on rates and fees. Zone and special-event totals need confirmation rather than a one-size-fits-all calculation. Keep your receipt and vehicle details if you need to query a charge.

## Taking the bus to the Strip or downtown

Airport bus advice changed in August 2026: the RED LINE replaced Route 109. The airport’s current instructions list the RED LINE and Route 108 at Terminal 1, Level Zero. Older WAX, 109, and Terminal 3 CX instructions can lead you to the wrong route or stop.

For a Strip hotel, use rideRTC to plan from LAS to the hotel’s actual entrance. A connection through South Strip Transit Terminal to the Deuce may suit your destination. The RED LINE links the airport with both South Strip Transit Terminal and Bonneville Transit Center downtown; check the direction and current stop list before boarding. Downtown hotels may still require a walk or another connection from the transit center.

From Terminal 3, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1 first. Include that step in your plan.

RTC’s visitor fare page lists $4 single rides, $6 two-hour passes, $8 24-hour passes, and $20 three-day passes. Visitors are directed to Strip and All Access fares, valid on residential routes too. A single-ride purchase isn’t a transfer pass; compare a time pass if your journey uses more than one bus. Confirm the current product in rideRTC before paying. Children five and younger ride free with a responsible accompanying person.

Bring manageable luggage, check your final stop and walk, and leave a larger margin for the return flight. If a missed connection would make you late, use a direct ride.

## Shared shuttles and private transfers

Bell Trans currently advertises online shared-shuttle fares of $15 per person one way or $28 round trip. Its site gives airport meeting points at Terminal 1 Door 8 and Terminal 3 Door 51. Confirm the instructions in your reservation and check that your hotel is served.

Bell lists airport-to-hotel service from 5 a.m. to midnight, with its last airport departure at 12:15 a.m.; hotel-to-airport service is listed from 5 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. Return bookings require at least 12 hours’ notice to guarantee a seat according to the operator. Recheck those terms for your travel date, especially after a late flight. Shared service makes multiple stops, so ask what pickup time gets you to the terminal by your arrival target.

For private cars and limos, request a quote for the full party, number of bags, and any equipment. Ask whether the price covers taxes, airport fees, gratuity, flight tracking, and waiting after baggage claim or customs. Confirm car-seat or accessible-vehicle needs before paying. A generic vehicle category doesn’t confirm that requirement.

Hotel shuttles are property-specific. Ask your hotel whether it currently offers an airport service, whether reservations are needed, and where it meets you.

## Renting a car without losing an hour

The Airport Rent-A-Car Center is at 7135 Gilespie Street, about three miles south of LAS. Take the free rental-car shuttle: Terminal 1 Level 1 outside doors 10–11, or Terminal 3 Level Zero at either end. The airport says its rental-shuttle fleet is ADA equipped.

Check whether your company is at the center. Some off-site agencies need a second transfer from the center; read your confirmation instead of heading straight for a terminal counter.

Budget for the shuttle wait, ride, rental queue, and vehicle collection. An extra 45–60 minutes is a useful planning allowance, not a guaranteed completion time; busy periods can take longer. Check the rental total for airport charges, taxes, insurance choices, extra drivers, age-related fees, fuel terms, and deposit requirements. Add your hotel’s parking cost before deciding that a car is cheaper.

Returning: navigate to the rental company’s return at the center, then take the shuttle to the correct terminal. Refueling, inspection, and the shuttle happen before your airport check-in window. Allow a separate 45–60-minute return margin on top of the drive and your airline’s airport arrival target, with more room during roadwork.

## Vegas Loop and Zoox

These are additional options to check for your exact destination and travel time. Keep a conventional taxi or rideshare as your fallback.

### Vegas Loop

The airport lists LAS pickups on Level Zero at both terminals and drop-offs at the departures curbs. Check the operator’s current destination list, operating hours, ticket price, and luggage arrangements. Don’t assume every Strip hotel is served or that the entire airport journey runs in a tunnel.

[Check airport Loop information](https://www.harryreidairport.com/vegas-loop)

### Zoox robotaxi

The airport lists Zoox service between LAS and select Strip destinations. Use the Zoox app to confirm an available airport trip, pickup instructions, price if charged, and passenger and luggage requirements. The operator’s general Las Vegas page lists 8 a.m.–1 a.m. service; confirm airport-specific availability rather than treating that as a promised pickup.

[Check Zoox service](https://zoox.com/las-vegas)

## Getting back to LAS

Aim to reach the correct terminal at least two hours before a domestic departure or three hours before an international departure, as LAS recommends. Your airline’s bag-drop and check-in deadlines still apply. These targets start at the terminal, not when you leave your room.

Work backward: airport arrival target + current drive or transit estimate + time to reach the hotel pickup point + a traffic and pickup buffer. Add rental return or shared-shuttle stops separately.

Example: for a noon domestic flight, target the terminal by 10 a.m. If your live drive estimate is 25 minutes, add 15 minutes for hotel pickup and 20 minutes of contingency: leave your room around 9 a.m. This is a planning example; use a larger margin if traffic, luggage, assistance, or your airline requires it.

Find the hotel’s designated taxi or rideshare pickup the night before. Large resorts can have separate pickup areas away from the main lobby. Ask staff which exit to use and allow for the walk. For a shared shuttle, reconfirm the return reservation and meeting point.

Give the driver Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 plus your airline. Uber and Lyft drop-offs are at the regular departures curbs. Check your flight and terminal again before leaving.

## Small details that save a big headache

### Kids and car seats

Arrange the correct seat with your provider in advance, or bring one that fits your transport plan. Don’t assume a taxi, rideshare, or shuttle has a seat available. Include strollers in your luggage count.

### Accessibility and assistance

Tell the provider whether you need to remain seated in a wheelchair, can transfer, or have a folding chair. Confirm the vehicle and loading arrangements. Arrange airport wheelchair assistance through your airline before travel.

[Airport assistance information](https://www.harryreidairport.com/special-assistance)

### Late arrivals and early flights

Check the actual operating hours for shuttles, buses, and app-based alternatives. Save the reservation details and keep a direct-ride backup. A midnight landing isn’t a midnight curbside arrival.

### A friend is picking you up

Use the airport’s designated passenger pickup area and agree on terminal, level, and numbered column. Text when you have your bags and reach the meeting point. Drivers should follow airport waiting and parking instructions.

[Airport transport information](https://www.harryreidairport.com/all-options-to-and-from)

### Skip the walking gamble

An airport perimeter close to a hotel on a map doesn’t establish a convenient pedestrian route from baggage claim. With luggage or summer heat, plan a proper ride rather than improvising a roadside walk.

### Keep essentials with you

Have your hotel’s full name and address saved, enough phone battery to find the pickup bay, and water for outdoor waits. Check the back seat and trunk before the vehicle leaves.

## Frequently asked questions

### Should I take a taxi or Uber/Lyft from LAS?

Compare your live app quote with the posted taxi fare for your exact hotel. Taxis meet you outside baggage claim; Uber and Lyft use designated parking-garage pickup areas. Include people, luggage, the garage walk, and waiting time in your decision.

### Are airport taxi fares charged per person?

Taxi zone fares are per vehicle. RTC and shared-shuttle fares are per person. Confirm that one vehicle can safely carry your whole party and luggage before comparing totals.

### How much is a taxi to the Strip?

The current official Tier 1 zone chart lists $22.25, $26.25, and $30.25 for direct trips to listed hotels, in either direction. Confirm your hotel’s zone and applicable extras. Those figures aren’t a guaranteed final total.

### Where do Uber and Lyft pick up?

Terminal 1: Level 2 of the parking garage. Terminal 3: the parking garage’s Valet Level. Follow airport rideshare signs and the meeting point shown in your app; the taxi curb is a different pickup area.

### Can I take the Deuce directly from the airport?

Plan a connection rather than looking for a Deuce stop at baggage claim. Current airport buses are Route 108 and the RED LINE at Terminal 1 Level Zero. Use rideRTC for the connection to your specific Strip hotel, including any transfer at South Strip Transit Terminal.

### Is Route 109 still the airport bus?

The RED LINE replaced Route 109 in August 2026. Use current RTC planning and the airport’s Terminal 1 instructions rather than an older 109, WAX, or Terminal 3 CX guide.

### What if I land at Terminal 3 and want the RTC bus?

The airport’s current bus instructions direct Terminal 3 passengers to take the free inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1. The RTC stop is on Terminal 1 Level Zero. Add the terminal transfer to your journey time.

### How early should I leave my hotel for the airport?

Work backward from reaching the terminal at least two hours before a domestic flight or three before an international flight. Add the current journey estimate, the walk and wait at your hotel pickup, and a traffic buffer. Rental returns and shared-shuttle stops need additional time.

### Is a rental car worth it for a Strip stay?

Compare the full rental bill, fuel, and hotel parking against the rides you expect to take. A car may suit trips beyond the Strip; a mostly Strip-based stay may be easier with direct transfers and local transport. Include rental-shuttle and return time.

### Are the transportation options available 24 hours?

Don’t assume every service runs overnight. Shared shuttles, buses, Vegas Loop, and Zoox have schedules or availability limits. Check your travel time in the provider’s current information and keep a direct taxi or rideshare fallback.
