The store is like a time capsule for the TRL and TGIF generation. T-shirts emblazoned with 90s and early 2000s athletes and pop stars, throwback UNLV merch, retro toys and video games, and posters for old sitcoms line the walls.
“The shop has a very happy-go-lucky 90s/Y2K vibe,” Barney, 35, says. “I’ve always maintained that that Era for me was a happier and simpler time. With the last couple of years that we’ve all had to deal with, it’s refreshing to be able to go back to that.”
The physical shop has been a long time coming. A professional guitarist who’s played and toured with bands for the last decade, Barney started dabbling in vintage fashion in 2016 and started Vintaged LV. He took a break for a while but relaunched the concept in 2020 out of pandemic boredom.
That’s when he met Ray Villalobos, owner of Run It Back. The two bonded over their love for the Los Angeles Lakers, their adoration apparent as soon as you step inside the shop. Ray happened to curate vintage games and toys from that era.
The shop is much a random assortment of clothing and memorabilia.
